  Meet the Principals

Ted Ritter has been a Project / Construction Management consultant since 1982. He started out providing CPM scheduling to builders and owners, which naturally evolved into providing expert analysis of delayed projects. In studying failed projects, Ted developed a unique understanding of how procurement of services, preparation and leveraging of contracts, and establishment of formal relationships did not serve the needs of specific projects. This became the foundation of Ritter’s Healthcare Project Management Services: to meet the Owner’s Best Interest through pointed, factual, aggressive, open-book preparation and execution of a comprehensive project plan, designed to prevent failure by setting up all entities for success, and customized to each specific Owner. Ted co-teaches a course for the American College of Healthcare Executives titled “Managing Healthcare Facility Design and Construction Programs”, has a BS and MS in Construction Management, and is a PMI Project Management Professional.

Andreas Aalhus is a Professional Engineer (Canada) and PMI Project Management Professional. With twenty-two years in the building industry, over the past twelve years, he has worked with more than a dozen different healthcare clients (both private and public) on over twenty-five projects, ranging from smaller renovations / additions to large greenfield projects. Andreas’ work has run the spectrum from management of master planning efforts to complete project management services related to planning, design, construction and occupancy. He brings extensive knowledge of project structuring, procurement management, contract development, budgeting and scheduling.

James Ragan, PE, has thirty-three years’ experience in construction administration, engineering design, and field supervision, both in the public and private sectors. With Ritter since 1991, his understanding of the CPM scheduling process and ability to write lucid, compelling narratives has made him a major part of the company’s team doing delay analysis and expert witness testimony. Jim also does CPM schedule preparation and management. Ritter has many clients who repeatedly request Jim's services.

  Meet the Team

Derrill Adair has thirty years’ experience in the construction industry. Derrill’s years in the field as superintendent and project manager give him good insight into constructability issues as he acts as Owner’s Rep on healthcare projects. Derrill’s strong suits are communication, consensus building and problem solving. Asked to stay on for remodeling of an existing facility after a hospital expansion, he brings a solid understanding of realistic cost estimating to the process.

Bob Bremm is an Engineer by education (BEME) and has worked in both Healthcare and Higher Education the last twenty-five years. As Director of Facilities at four institutions, he has been responsible for all facets of planning, design, construction, maintenance, and property management. Bob knows the challenges an Owner faces, including internal challenges, in taking a project from initial concept to integration into the institution’s inventory. A successful project not only has to come in on time and on budget but also needs to be managed through the daily impact on operations and the internal stress this can cause an Owner. Bob has experience in GC/CM, design/build and other delivery methods.

Kelly Woollums brings a wealth of concrete, down-to-earth constructability experience to the building and updating of detailed schedules for complex projects. With fifteen years’ experience, he knows the questions to ask. Kelly is extremely adept at working schedules to serve the Owner and Builder to the ultimate benefit of the project. Kelly holds an AS in Architectural Drafting and a Certificate in Project Management.

Liz Adair joined Ritter in 2004 and works as office manager and coordinator of support personnel for project managers. Liz also aids in forensic scheduling when Ritter is called upon to do claims work. A published author, Liz collaborates with project managers on GC/CM applications and other reports and documents integral to the success of construction projects.

Debbie Ritter is Ritter’s support ‘bench.’ Though a full-time mother, she’s an officer of the corporation and has worked in supporting roles for many years. Always ready to answer a call for help, adept in any area, she’s the secret of Ritter’s ability to rise to every occasion.

Terry Gifford is coordinator of all seminars presented by Ritter, both in Bellingham, Washington, Phoenix, Arizona, and at companies’ corporate offices. Presently, Ritter is doing a series of seminars for a major contractor on leveraging a CPM schedule to improve controls and eliminate claims in construction projects.
